Sadl, the Metaverse Chronicles is no longer a blog du moment. But fear not! Apart from the expansive Star Wars gnomz set and the newly added background and characters for the Real Ghostbusters, it has been pointed to my direction that as part of the 'The Movies' gnomz advertising, the Ultimate Nick Fury gnomz has been used (as seen on screenshot above). Yay for more of my contributions to gnomz!
Ultimate Nick Fury, as seen in picture above, is the baddest, blackest sweet sweeeeet badassss undercover brother of the Ultimate Marvel universe (a widescreen format of Marvel faves like Spidey, the Avengers, etc). So we get a black general Nick Fury based off Samuel L. Jackson. How cool is that? (Thank the gods or lack of them he's not David Hasselhoff) He's the best thing about the series. Screw the jingoistic Cappy America, the wife-beating Giant Man, the hippy peacenick Thor and the incestous Wanda-Quicksilver relationship. Nick Fury: he's Black and he's Bad! He'll woop yo' ass!
Congrats to all those now enjoying the new Ghostbusters gnomz AND background (the New York fire station with, and sans ecto-1!). As a result, I've whipped up a batch of FIRE-FIGHTER avatars to go along with the firestation (I know, I know, the ecto-less background is ALREADY on the template, but have some hunky firemen sliding down poles to go with it I say!). THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS!
To all those too young to remember, the hit comedy 'Ghostbusters' (1984) spawned a long running cartoon series called (for legal wrangling reasons) the 'REAL Ghostbusters' (1986-1991) which I loved as a ween. This featured caricatures of the Ghostbuster characters and was pretty scary for a childrens cartoon. In fact, it even had a metatextual throwaway reference in which in the cartoon, the characters discuss the making of a movie based on their exploits. The line "... Ramis, Akroyd, Murray.. Sounds like a law firm! " appears in that particular episode. Ahh, postmodernism in kids cartoons.
Anyhoo, here are the Real Ghostbusters in full Gnomzcolour diorama glory (for the uninitiated, this is a shot of Ghostbusters HQ with their cadillac ambulance signature vehicle, the Ecto-1, and features a very large and delicious cameo)! Sure the original series 60's Trek was more groundbreaking and innovative, but who wants cardboard wobbly sets, Vulcans who have sex every 7 years and Klingons with Fu-Manchu mustaches when you can have dodgy CGI, a French bald Star Trek Captain that speaks Shakespearean and the occassional 'Merde!' (which he gave up halfway through the 2nd series I believe) and Klingons with shit stuck up their foreheads? :) TNG was the one I grew up with. Ah fond memories!

Better late than never I always say! Congratulations to =lol= for his amazing blog (both in english and in french) with helpful links and funny pieces of information, and a big W00000000ooooot to the Gnomz mods, for choosing to display the recognition of The Metaverse Chronicles as a gnomz pixel art entity, AND to create a dedicated Star Wars section based of the work that I have produced (and hopefully incorporating the work of others that I have seen as well!).
I tend to get quite a few emails a day requesting avatars, asking for tips, etc; and while I regretfully have to decline many a request (time issues, interest, etc) it gives me great pleasure to make avatars for everyone to use! A BIG thank you to all visitors to the Metaverse that have left comments. They are VERY appreciated and it is what makes this worth whiel (as a leisurely pursuit, or 'hobby' as you would say).
